Baybay City, Leyte - The Hayag Youth Organization of Ormoc City is a community-based youth organization who has initiated a project that aims to enable their members to practice container organic gardening to raise their own demand for available and nutritious food especially at this time of pandemic. To complement the learning of their members, the organization requested ATI RTC 8 to conduct an e-Learning orientation for their members to access and enroll in the free online course on Basic Urban Gardening.

In response, ATI-RTC 8 held a virtual orientation dubbed Agri-galing sa e-Learning on March 25, 2022 via Google Meet. Twenty (20) members of Hayag Youth Organization attended. ATI RTC 8 Center Director Hazel Grace T. Taganas, welcomed the participants. She acknowledged the organization’s initiative and efforts on promoting urban agriculture to the youth and emphasizing the significance of e-Learning program in the accessibility of knowledge in agriculture and fisheries.

IS staff Mr. Christian Keruel Laurente walked the participants through the e-Learning background and how-tos such as creating a new account, logging in, enrolling a course and accessing the e-certificate. The participants then created their accounts and enrolled in the Basic Urban Gardening e-learning course.
