RBME enumerators undergo ODK orientation
Participants discuss the ODK with their peers

BAYBAY CITY, Leyte –ATI-RTC 8 tracks the impact of its programs and project implementation through evaluation studies. This is done for programs implemented in the previous years and is led by the Center’s Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Unit (PMEU).

It uses the Results-Based Monitoring and Evaluation (RBME) system that aims to determine the effect of training on the knowledge, skills, and attitude (KAS) of participants and the results of the ATI – RTC 8’s interventions – policies, programs, and projects for 2019.

The information gathered from the AFE RBME system can help the ATI personnel, especially the ATI management and program implementers, to have better knowledge and understanding of how the interventions work. Further, gathered information will help the ATI management come up with better-informed and evidence-based decisions towards continuous organizational improvement and reforms.

Besides using the RBME system, enumerators will collect data using the ODK program through their mobile devices instead of the usual printed forms.

Development Management Officer, Ms. Mary Jane P. Pepe, highlighted the importance of the activity, “This is done to properly orient the tapped field enumerators from the 42 selected municipalities (8 farmer respondents per municipality) on the survey tools and on using Open Data Kit (ODK) in data collection. Without this, enumerators won’t have the same level of understanding on the survey questions and difficulty in using the ODK program.”

Data collection is expected to start in April and will end in June 2022. Further, data analysis and drafting of the evaluation study write-up will follow.

A total of 42 enumerators attended the orientation on March 16, 22, and 24, 2022 in Baybay City, Tacloban City, and Catbalogan City, respectively.
