ATI Offers Graduate Degree Program Scholarships for AEWs

QUEZON CITY, Metro Manila—In its aim to empower the agricultural extension workers (AEWs) with opportunities for career development, and to develop a pool of community management professionals and subject matter specialists, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) is now offering Master's and Doctorate Degrees in Agriculture and Fishery thru the Educational Grants for Extension Workers (EdGE) scholarship.

EdGE is the latest offering of the Institute, open to deserving and capable AEWs from the Department of Agriculture (DA), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), and Local Government Units (LGUs), wherein full-time and part-time students will be accommodated. A total of 85 slots for Master’s Degree and 51 slots for Doctorate Degree are available nationwide, including the National Capital Region (NCR).
     
To be eligible in the scholarship, applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s degree for MS applicants, and Master’s degree with thesis or its equivalent for PhD applicants; he/she must have rendered at least two (2) years of service as a permanent employee; his/her course program must be in line with the mandate of his/her Agency; he/she must have a rating of at least Very Satisfactory (VS) in the Individual Performance and Commitment Review (IPCR) for two (2) consecutive rating periods immediately preceding the application; is endorsed by the Agency Head; not more than 50 years old at the time of application; not under any form of scholarship for his/her graduate studies; no pending administrative case; not have been a delinquent scholar of a previous scholarship; must pass the requirements for admission where he/she intends to study; and he/she must be willing to work on a thesis/dissertation study that is subject to the Guidelines of the Thesis and Dissertation Assistance.

Interested applicants may apply by submitting an application letter; latest personal data sheet (PDS) with 2x2 picture certified by the Agency's Human Resource (HR) Officer; Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) copy of Birth Certificate; certified true copy of Diploma and Transcript of Records (TOR), certified Copy of Appointment; certified copies of the IPCR for the last two (2) periods; Certification of Good Moral Character; Certified Copy of Duties and Responsibilities or Position Description Form (PDF); permit to study approved and signed by the Head of Agency/Office; certification from the Agency's HR that the applicant is not under any form of scholarship for his/her graduate studies, has no pending administrative case, and has not been a delinquent scholar from previous scholarship program; and a Certificate of Admission from the preferred University/College.

Applications must be submitted to the respective ATI Regional Training Centers (ATI-RTCs) nationwide for regional applicants, and to the ATI-Central Office for NCR applicants not later than July 25, 2022.
