As the lead agency in the delivery of electronic extension services in the country, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) plays a vital role in developing a unified, technology-driven system to improve farming practices and knowledge-sharing. Through the e-Extension Program for Agriculture and Fisheries, ATI leverages technology to empower farmers and fisherfolk, promoting innovation and sustainable growth in this sector. To keep the program relevant and effective, it is essential for ATI to stay updated on industry standards and practices while actively engaging with eLearning communities. Participating in eLearning also provides a valuable platform to showcase the program’s innovations and services.
Consequently, a delegation from the ATI, consisting of Central Office and Training Centers e-Extension Program implementers, attended the 16th National eLearning Conference 2024, themed “Leveraging eLearning for Sustainable Future”.
During the conference’s first day plenary session, Yovina- Claire Pauig, Information Officer III of ATI’s Information Services Division, delivered a presentation on "Rebuilding the e-Learning for Agri-Fisheries: Developing a More Reliable Online Learning Platform for Enhanced Access and User Experience". She highlighted ATI’s journey, successes, and challenges in rebuilding the e-Learning platform of the e-Extension Program for Agriculture and Fisheries. Additionally, she noted that the pandemic intensified the difficulties faced by both learners and site administrators in using ATI’s Learning Management System (LMS), prompting the decision to revamp the platform to improve user experience.
The conference is organized and facilitated by the Philippine eLearning Society, with ATI as one of the major sponsors. ATI also has an exhibit area showcasing its e-Learning platform. The event is being held at the Lyceum of the Philippines University in Davao City from September 3-6, 2024.
