DILIMAN, Quezon City—Department of Agriculture (DA) Senior Undersecretary Domingo Panganiban has officially sworn in Director Remelyn Recoter and Assistant Director Antonieta Arceo as the full-fledged key officials of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI).

In a short ceremony on March 13 at the DA Central Office, both Dir. Recoter and Asst. Dir. Arceo took their oath in the presence of ATI division chiefs, unit heads, and other staff.

Dir. Recoter has been involved in the agriculture sector for around 33 years. After serving as the Regional Executive Director of the DA Regional Field Office (RFO) in Western Visayas, she was designated as the officer-in-charge (OIC) Director of the ATI in September 2022.

Meanwhile, Asst. Dir. Arceo has been with the ATI since August 1998. She became the chief of the Information Services Division in May 2015, and was designated as the OIC-Assistant Director in September 2021.

The two officials received their appointment from President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. on March 10, 2023.

With this opportunity, Dir. Recoter hopes to be able to strengthen the ATI’s collaboration with DA-RFOs nationwide to address the needs of the local farming and fishing communities.

Both officials are also expected to lead the Institute in providing capacity-building activities in line with the DA’s Strategic Agenda to achieve modernization and industrialization of the sector. These include training programs along the value chain, promotion of digital agriculture, and youth empowerment activities. (with reports from Sweet Jessabel De Guzman)
