DILIMAN, Quezon City—With the view that Filipino products are at par with the world’s best, Gourmet Farms continues to produce and offer different local coffee blends in the market, including their “Kapelipinas” line.

“The ‘Kapelipinas’ line is 100% from the Arabica-growing regions in the Philippines. We have one from Benguet, one from Davao, and others. We have a total of 8 variants of this ‘Kapelipinas’ line. This is because part of our sustainability program is to help our local coffee farmers improve their businesses as well as promote coffee from the regions,” Gourmet Farms’ marketing manager Judd Reyes said in an interview on “Agri Asenso” on DZRH.

Reyes added that the bestseller among their regular blends are the Barako Batangas, mountain-grown Arabica, and Hazelnut Coffee. Their coffee variants are also available as part of their Christmas gift sets which cost from Php500 to Php5,000 each.

“Our coffee sets are the most special. We have a set that comes with a French press. And, we have a set also with our bottled meals and our bottled sauces. One of our bestselling products is our pesto sauce made from Basil that is harvested from our farm,” Reyes shared.

Gourmet Farms’ main production area is 12 hectares wide and located in Silang, Cavite. They are a private extension services provider of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI).

Aside from coffee, they also grow lettuce and culinary herbs that are also being sold in supermarkets. They also have a restaurant called “Gourmet’s Café” which started in the 1980s.

“‘Gourmet’ connotes quality. It talks about the quality of the products that we have, and that’s what we’re really proud of. And, we believe that Pinoy-made products can compete with the products from other countries,” Reyes said.

“Our strategy to encourage consumers to try our products is actual trial. We do a lot of sampling. We join expos, especially coffee expos and agri expos, because we believe that nothing beats quality. And, we noticed that once people really get to taste real coffee and the quality of Gourmet Farms, they get convinced to buy and keep on trying the other coffee products that we have,” he added.

For more information on their products, Gourmet Farms is available via their hotline at 0999-8895972.
