
DILIMAN, Quezon City – To uphold the Institute’s Quality Management System (QMS), the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) conducted two (2) batches of Training on Internal Quality Audit (IQA) for New ATI Internal Quality Auditors to empower the selected personnel to be equipped with knowledge and skills on ISO 9001:2015 standards, concepts, principles, and procedures to execute effective internal audits. The training was attended by selected personnel from ATI Network of Training Centers and the Administrative and Finance Unit - Office of the Director.
In her welcome remarks, Director Remelyn R. Recoter, MNSA, CESO III emphasized the importance of the roles of the participants to achieve the goal of the Institute. “Your role is very important since our Training Centers are also being audited . . . we want to maintain the ISO certification of the ATI as we also are aiming to become a premier training institute for agriculture . . . we want our clients to be satisfied with our services”, she stated.
The training covered essential topics such as an Introduction to Quality Management System (QMS), an Overview of ISO 9001:2015 and its Requirements (Clauses 4-10), and the Internal Audit Process. Participants engaged in practical exercises, including audit process terms and definitions, principles of auditing, audit program development, formulating audit checklist questions, audit findings analysis, and mock audit workshops. These hands-on activities allowed them to identify specific ISO 9001:2015 requirements in sample scenarios, draft accurate audit statements, and prepare audit reports.
During the Closing Program, Assistant Director Antonieta J. Arceo expressed her response to the impressions of the participants. “We are happy to have additional members for the pool of internal quality auditors . . . through this training, we hoped that you get to appreciate and get to know the different programs of the Institute, appreciated more through the lens of being an auditor, by getting to know their processes, procedures, and the different systems they implement in their Operating Units . . . take it as a challenge and learn through the process, now that you already gained the knowledge, it is your role to apply that knowledge”, she shared.
The training sessions were held in two batches: Batch 1 was conducted from February 10-14, 2025, at ATI Orosa Hall, ATI Building, while Batch 2 took place from March 10-14, 2025, at ATI Function Hall, Rural Development and Education Center (RDEC) Building.
