Iloilo City, Philippines - The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) takes part in the 74th Philippine Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (PSABE) Annual Convention 2025 as one of its main sponsor.
The PSABE Annual Convention is a week-long series of seminars and activities for professional Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (ABE) all over the country. The ABEs or BAYAWs as they call their colleagues, will ensure to capacitate their community of farmers to strengthen their knowledge about precision agriculture with these seminars.
As the knowledge bank and capacity builder of the Philippine agri-fishery sector, ATI grants scholarship programs to Bachelor of Science and Master Degrees in ABE. Accredited CPD programs for the ABEs have also been provided by the Institute since 2021.
Czarina S. Mamino-Bayot, Section Chief of Career Development Section of the Career Development and Management Division of ATI, discussed the four facets of professionalism, emphasizing the importance of multiple professionals practicing their expertise during the event. She also highlighted the diverse training opportunities available for Agriculture Extension Workers (AEWs), particularly in agriculture and fisheries mechanization, which have been distributed across ATI's network of regional training centers.
"ATI is following the four levels of training evaluation: reaction, learning, on-the-job performance and impact. In the reaction level, we measure their overall training evaluation, as well as the Resource Person Evaluation. Then at the learning level, we measure their learning gain through pre and post tests. Next js the monitoring of participants' action plan/project implementation after six months. Then lastly, we do impact assessment on the effectiveness of the training, if applicable," Mamino-Bayot also shared on how the institute evaluates the effectiveness of its capacity-building programs for ABEs."
As a token of appreciation, the institute was awarded a plaque of recognition for its significant contributions to the success of the entire activity. The PSABE Annual Convention 2025 will run from April 21-25, 2025 at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel, Iloilo City.
