DA Usec. Mercedita Sombilla and the ATI officials led the ribbon cutting ceremony to officially launch the AgriAsenso Product Expo.

A successful three-day fair and forum culminated the 37th anniversary celebration of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), dubbed as AgriAsenso Product Expo and TechnoForum.

This event highlighted the latest products, technologies, and best practices of ATI-certified Learning Sites of Agriculture (LSAs) and accredited Extension Service Providers (ESPs).

Generating an impressive income of approximately PhP1.1 million in total sales for three consecutive days, the activity showcased the quality of products from the ATI’s demonstration sites, and the potential for growth and development within the agriculture and fishery sector.

Undersecretary for Department of Agriculture (DA) Bureaus, Mercedita Sombilla, ATI Director Remelyn Recoter, along with other Regional Training Center (RTC) directors, led the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the TriNoma Activity Center in Quezon City to officially launch the event.

Usec. Sombilla, in her speech, emphasized the significance of the initiative in terms of market accessibility for producers and consumers.

“Samantala, ako ay nagagalak na maging kabahagi ng pagbubukas ngayon ng AgriAsenso Product Expo and TechnoForum dahil ito ay sang-ayon sa layunin ng Kagawaran ng Pagsasaka na maisaayos ang market access para sa mga produktong agrikultural at ma-promote ang ating sektor bilang isang magandang investment alternative para sa ating mga kababayan”, she said.

She also expressed gratitude to all partners for their unwavering support in ATI and DA projects, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in reaching more farmers across the country.

“Nawa sa susunod na tatlumpu’t pitong (37) taon ng ATI ay mas marami pang mabuong kolaborasyon sa iba’t-ibang organisasyon at indibidwal upang lalo pang mapatibay ang sektor ng agrikultura”, she added.

Throughout the event, attendees were able to get free agriculture-related learning materials and avail themselves of fresh and processed local food products as well as non-food items from different regions in the country.

Additionally, learning sessions were held covering topics in agribusiness, such as product registration, trademark registration, precision agriculture, and flower pounding. Discussions on building farmer cooperatives as well as branding and marketing strategies were also conducted during the event.

This activity was held last February 2-4, with the theme "Innovate, Collaborate, Succeed: Growing Together for a Sustainable Future".
