DILIMAN, Quezon City—Through the partnership of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) and the Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI), in coordination with the Department of Education (DepEd), the AgriKids Digital Learning Resources for Future Farmers will push in its third year.

Since its launch in 2019, the “AgriKids” has been providing an avenue for grade school students  to understand that agriculture plays a vital role in society and their daily lives. The program also aims to increase agriculture literacy among the youth through the K-12 Program of DepEd by providing easy access to digital learning resources.

The first of the ten episodes of AgriKids 2022 will air on November 28, 2022 and will focus on the description and parts of different kinds of plants. Students may watch the program through carrier stations such as KCh School at Home, Knowledge Channel, and A2Z which are available in Sky Cable, GSat Direct TV, PCTA, Cignal, and SatLite. The videos will also be available online through the KCh website and YouTube channel, and the ATI Facebook and YouTube.

Before the production of these videos, a series of consultations, evaluation, and pre-testing among educators, school heads, and students were conducted, respectively, to come up with the best and most suitable educational videos for pre-kinder to Grade 2 students. The next phase of consultation will take place for 3rd to 5th graders, 6th to 8th graders, and 9th to 12th graders, respectively.

The series of consultations will continue to ensure that the project will reach 10,000 public schools nationwide by 2025. This is to help improve student achievement by integrating agricultural-based content in teaching core curriculum concepts in science, social studies, language arts, nutrition, and other related subjects.
