DILIMAN, Quezon City - The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), together with the Philippine Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (PSABE), Inc. continue to collaborate with professionals, researchers, and industry experts in agriculture and biosystems engineering.
For this year, the ATI supported PSABE’s 73rd Annual National Convention, with the theme "Sustainable Innovations in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering: Greener Future for Food-Secured Philippines."
To further inform stakeholders about its programs and services, the ATI, through its Career Development and Management Division - set up an exhibition of agricultural innovations, sponsored seminars throughout the conference, and carried out a Training Needs Assessment Survey for Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers, among others.
During the event, ATI National Director, Remelyn R. Recoter shared the Institute’s efforts towards professionalization of extension workers in the Philippines.
“Aligned with the mandates and functions of the ATI, our focus is on the third facet which is to provide capability interventions such as provision of training and scholarship services that are needs-based interventions to improve the participants’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes,” she said.
The ATI also distributed various information, education, and communication (IEC) materials, and provided advisory services.
The conference allowed the exchange of cutting-edge concepts, expertise, and developments in the expansion of agriculture and fisheries, with a focus on sustainable methods for future food security.
This was held last April 22-26, 2024, at the Legazpi National Convention Center in Legazpi City, Albay.
