Taguig City - The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) is offering more Filipino youth the chance to learn Israeli best practices and experiences in agriculture. On January 21, 2025, ATI Director Remelyn R. Recoter and Agrostudies founder and CEO Yaron Tamis signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the internship program at the Israel Embassy in the Philippines. Authorized by the Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel, Recoter formalized this partnership, which allows DA-ATI to send interns to an 11-month internship program in Israel through Agrostudies. His Excellency Ilan Fluss, Israel Ambassador to the Philippines, witnessed the MOU signing.

Agrostudies, an international training center, offers agricultural education to developing countries. Under its Agriculture Internship Program, it focuses on capacity building through practical and professional knowledge transfer in agriculture. The program includes lectures and meetings with experts in various fields.

This year, the program will start with 50 agriculture graduates who ATI will carefully select from across the country to be part of the 1st batch of interns. These interns will have the opportunity to develop a Business Enterprise Plan (BEP) to apply the knowledge and skills they acquire during the program. ATI will support the implementation of these plans by providing start-up capital and farm inputs based on each intern's business plan. The interns will then implement their plans in their respective regions, bringing new ideas and innovation to local agriculture.

Filipino youth who are interested in this program can apply. Once qualified, they will embark on an 11-month internship in Israel. Upon completing the internship, they will return to their regions to implement their respective BEPs, applying the knowledge and skills they have acquired.

This program is only one of ATI's several initiatives aimed at empowering young people in line with the DA’s goal towards a Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas. By providing agricultural graduates with invaluable global exposure and hands-on experience, ATI seeks to develop a new generation of competent and experienced agricultural professionals by giving agricultural graduates exposure to the global economy and real-world experience. This program fosters a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship in addition to improving their technical proficiency. Ultimately, these initiatives strive to transform agriculture into a more lucrative, sustainable, and productive sector for every Filipino, ensuring food security and driving national economic growth.

ATI will soon announce the details of the Internship Program during its 38th Anniversary on January 29 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.
