Engr. Roger V. Navarro, Undersecretary for Operations and Agri-Fisheries Mechanization Undersecretary for Rural Credit, emphasized the broader significance of the program, stating, “We will not only concentrate on the awarding of the Gawad Saka; we should focus on the data we can gather and evaluate the program to determine where support is needed. We want them to improve their performance and replicate their success in other areas. These are the ones we should assist—through post-harvest facilities and any other programs or interventions we can provide. They are the potential recipients of our interventions.”
