Luzon Native Delicacies Highlight ATI FFM Celebration

DILIMAN, Quezon City - Native dishes in Luzon were showcased during the Cook-Off and Seminar activity of the Agricultural Training Institute in celebration of the 2025 Filipino Food Month (FFM).

With this year’s theme “Sarap ng Pagkaing Pilipino: Yaman ng Ating Kasaysayan, Kultura, at Pagkatao”, FFM aims to promote Filipino culinary culture and recognize the significance of high-value crops in the Filipino diet, culture, and heritage.

Rural Improvement Clubs (RIC) from CAR, Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and CALABARZON took part in the Cook-off as they presented delicacies from their hometown.

Crisel Luciano and Sharon Bitso from CAR RIC bagged the 1st place honor for the Cook-Off with their “Inakbotv jen kinuday with taro and 4 season sweet and sour delicacy”. Cagayan Valley RIC and Ilocos Region RIC placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

ATI Director Engr. Remelyn R. Recoter graced the activity along with Department of Agriculture (DA) Assistant Secretary Atty. Genevieve “Bebang” Guevarra, Department of Tourism-Manpower Training Division Chief Ryan N. Sebastian, and DA-Agribusiness, Marketing and Assistance Service (AMAS) Director Junibert E. De Sagun.

Meanwhile, the seminar focused on the Promotion and Utilization of Indigenous Crops with Just Dagu-ob from the DA-Bureau of Plant Industry serving as the resource person. 

The said activity was held last April 15, 2025, at the Rural Development and Education Center, ATI Compound, Diliman, Quezon City.
