Recoter Named Most Outstanding Aklanon in Government Service

KALIBO, Aklan—Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Director Remelyn R. Recoter was among the Most Outstanding Aklanons for 2023, under the government service category, particularly in agriculture.

During the 67th Aklan Day Commemorative Program, Recoter was given the prestigious recognition in the province, together with four other awardees in the fields of community service, education, business, and sports.

In her short message, she thanked the Aklan Provincial Government for the award and conveyed her continued support and advocacy for the Filipino farmers.

“This award will be an inspiration to continue what we have started, what we are currently doing, not only for Aklanons, but, likewise, expanding the reach to the whole of Western Visayas and the country as well,” the ATI Director said.

Recoter has been in the agriculture and fishery sector for over 33 years. Among others, she has led various programs and initiatives promoting organic agriculture, establishing of modern trading and processing centers, supporting the development of fisheries and aquatic resources, as well as rural capacitation and empowerment.

As a former Regional Executive Director of the Department of Agriculture–Region Field Offices VI and XI, she has helped in the advancement of regional goals towards an overall food-secure Philippines.

With the recognition of the Aklanons, Recoter is honored for having been able to help in her “own little way and contribute to the socioeconomic development of the province.”

In 2021, she received the Model Public Servant Award.

This Founding Anniversary Celebration of Aklan was graced by Senator Loren Legarda, Aklan Governor Jose Enrique Miraflores, and various district representatives and local chief executives of the province and neighboring areas.
