ATI Director Recoter Takes Oath as New CHED Technical Panel Member

DILIMAN, Quezon City - The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has appointed Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Director Remelyn R. Recoter, nominated by Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., as a member of the Technical Panel for Agriculture. Recoter took her oath last December 9,2024, expressing her commitment to enhance agricultural education in the Philippines.

As an advising and recommendatory body, the members of the Technical Panel will create a thorough five-year roadmap for their respective fields. In order to keep the discipline current and responsive to regional, global, and local developmental needs, this roadmap will establish the strategic direction and pinpoint the required policy changes. Conceptualizing, organizing, carrying out, and overseeing projects and efforts linked to the advancement of diverse disciplines are all included in their purview.

Together with the other members of the Technical Panel, Recoter will be instrumental in shaping the future of agricultural education. In collaboration with other experts, Recoter will lead the formulation of a comprehensive five-year roadmap for the agriculture discipline. This roadmap will set strategic directions and identify necessary policy reforms to ensure that agricultural education remains relevant and responsive to both local and global needs.

Additionally, the panel will develop and update Policies, Standards, and Guidelines (PSG), and revise policies on Centers of Excellence (COE) and Centers of Development (COD). They will also provide orientation workshops, act as resource persons during public consultations, and take part in monitoring and assessment visits to Higher Education Institutions that are coordinated by CHED.

This strategic initiative by CHED aims to enhance the quality of higher education in the Philippines by ensuring that policies and guidelines for various disciplines are current, relevant, and effectively implemented.
