ATI-RTC 8 holds Interagency Meeting on Region 8 RCEF Rice Extension Services Program

PALO, LEYTE - This marks the sixth year of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF). As one of the lead agencies of the Rice Extension Services Program (RCEF-RESP), the Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center 8 (ATI-RTC 8) holds an interagency meeting and planning session for the RCEF Extension Component on February 21, 2024 at 4H-Hub in Candahug, Palo, Leyte. This aims to coordinate efforts between participating organizations to strengthen RCEF-RESP's support for rice farmers in the upcoming year.

The discussion includes program updates on the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund for calendar year 2024, plans of activities, issues, and challenges, and recommendations.

Present in the meeting are representatives from ATI-RTC 8, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Regional and Provincial Offices in Biliran, Leyte, Samar, and Southern Leyte, the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 8 (DA-RFO 8), Bureau of Plant Industry National Seed Quality Control Services 8 (BPI-NSQCS 8), Office of the Provincial Agriculture in Leyte, Biliran, and Samar (OPA), PagSo-Southern Leyte, National Irrigation Administration 8 (NIA), Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), National Food Authority (NFA), Land Bank of the Philippines Lending Centers in Samar and Southern Leyte, and Leyte. PhilRice-Bicol representative participates through Google Meet.

ATI, PhilRice, and TESDA shared their accomplishments during the meeting, addressed challenges, outlined strategies, and presented their plans for 2024. Resolute agreements were reached among the involved partners and agencies, paving the way for a more collaborative and efficient approach to advancing the objectives of RCEF-RESP in 2024.
