BUTUAN CITY, Agusan del Norte - Staff from ATI-RTC 8’s Information Services Section, attended the 2022 Knowledge Management Updates. This is a yearly activity, conducted by the Information Services Division of ATI-Central Office, is attended by staff from the different IS sections in the whole ATI network including the ITCPH. It aims to bring together the workforce of the different centers to share innovations, best practices, and even acquaint staff with other regional counterparts.
Resuming its activities this year after the pandemic, workshops focused on the targeted activities of IS for 2023 and 2024. Highlights of completed activities from ISD and the Centers were also presented and discussed. This is to sort out what went wrong, what went well, and what can be done to improve the section’s services.
One of the highlights of this year’s KM Updated was the IS Achievers’ Awards which recognized the efforts of outstanding IS sections from the different regions who have shown exemplary achievements for the past year. The ISS team from Eastern Visayas received awards for their most notable achievements for the year 2022. One is the Development of Knowledge Products and Services, and its Information and Communication Strategies in Social Media.
Ms. Jonalyn Saulan, Information Officer II and Mr. Bethel John Sinon, Media Production Specialist II of ATI-RTC 8 received the award in behalf of the ISS team of ATI 8. Present during the award’s night was ATI OIC Deputy Director, Ms. Antonietta Arceo, OIC-Chief of the ISD, Mr. Joeven Calasagsag, OIC-Assistant Chief of the ISD, Ms. Pamela Mapala, and the OIC-Center Director of ATI-RTC 13, Mr. Fil Victor Babanto.
In addition to the jampacked activities being conducted, this year’s KM Updates introduced a new activity that aims to gather new strategies in agricultural extension called the IS Agri Solutions Pitch. The winning region of the activity shall be given funding for their proposed pitch for 2024. The pitching sessions were participated by 13 regions, each underwent 2 rounds. First, was the poster presentation and the oral presentation. ATI in Eastern Visayas pitched the SIKAT: Sustainable Innovation and Knowledge on Agricultural Technologies which plans to highlight new or even indigenous technologies developed by Magsasaka Siyentistas and package them to benefit other small-scale farmers. In the end, ATI-RTC 8 won 3rd Place for the Poster contest.
These IS achievements wouldn’t have been possible without the joint efforts of the staff from the different sections, partners, and clients of ATI-RTC 8. The ISS of ATI Eastern Visayas looks forward to new challenges and partnerships that would bring knowledge management and extension in Region 8 to newer heights.
The 2022 KM Updates was held on December 6-10, 2022 at the Balanghai Hotel and Convention Center, Butuan City, Agusan del Norte with its host Region, ATI Caraga.
