Three years after the pandemic, the Visayas State University (VSU), the home campus of ATI-RTC 8, celebrated its 99th Founding Anniversary with the theme, “Celebrating Gains and Successes @ 99”. Being partners with the university for many years, the Center continues to support the university’s endeavours especially in developing the agricultural sector in the region.
As ATI gears towards the popularization of urban agriculture (UA), ATI 8 showcased UA in their booth display throughout the duration of the VSU Anniversary. Among the UA technologies showcased were hydroponics, square foot gardening, vertical gardening, and container gardening. Visitors were able to appreciate the benefits and the beauty of urban agriculture.
To keep visitors coming, fun games were also conducted with the hopes of spreading awareness about the benefits of agriculture. The Center also distributed IEC materials to provide more information about agriculture, and ATI’s services. Winners of Q and A were provided with seeds, fertilizers, and seedling trays so they can start establishing their own urban gardens at home.
