LSAs, ESPs, convene for Annual Assessment

 

BAYBAY CITY, Leyte - The Agricultural Training Institute has always given prime importance to partnerships on partnerships that involve the dishing out of government services to rural communities. Creating a space for viable partnerships in 2023 and the years to come is something to be strengthened taking into consideration the new challenges brought by the aftermath of Covid 19.

In Region 8, ATI-RTC 8 conducts a re-assessment of existing learning sites and other partners as new mandates are being cascaded by the administration. This is to ensure that  LSAs and the partners are still qualified to be conduits of extension services in their respective localities. On February 15, 2023, the virtual Annual Assessment for LSAs/SPAs/ESPs was conducted to capture valuable experiences and practices of ATI 8’s partners that can be beneficial in the crafting of more responsive program implementations in the future.

With the theme, “Looking Beyond Boundaries as Viable Partners in Excellent Extension Services”, the online activity gathered a total of eighty-two (82) representatives from partner LSAs and ESPs to update them on the current policy guidelines of ATI in certifying LSAs, and accrediting ESP applicants. Issues and concerns, as well as experiences and solutions, were also discussed during the activity spearheaded by the Partnership and Accreditation Services Chief, Mr. Antonio Cadalin.

OMRO, or the Organikong Magsasaka ng Rehiyon Otso, also presented their updates regarding their legal personality as an organization. A topic on Building Alliance: A strategy in bringing real extension services to the Farming Communities also gave insights to the partners on how to level-up their services to their clients.

Fast-tracking the implementation of the rural and poverty-focused programs is a big challenge. However, with the presence of 112 LSA I. 32 LSA II, and 4 ESPs in the region, these initiatives  will be attainable. with the support and assistance of these partners in the forefront of the agriculture sector.
