BAYBAY CITY, Leyte - ATI-RTC 8 Center Director Ms. Hazel Grace T. Taganas welcomed guests from LGU Malitbog of Southern Leyte led by one of its agricultural extension workers, Mr. Nido Cañon, in a courtesy visit on November 14, 2024 at ATI-RC 8, VSU Campus, Baybay City, Leyte.
In her message, Center Director Taganas emphasized the value of farmer's initiatives and their contribution to food availability in the country. Further, she provided a brief description of Casa Cornelio Farmtech (CCF), an ATI-RTC 8 certified Learning Site for Agriculture in the City, which focuses on coconut and cassava production.
The visit is part of the Coconut Alliance benchmarking activity in the City of Baybay. They were also scheduled to visit the National Coconut Research Center at Visayas State University and CCF in Brgy. Bubon, Baybay City.
ATI-RTC 8 participated in the GIZ Coconut Alliance Project Team's visit to the Province of Southern Leyte early this year.
