GUIUAN, Eastern Samar - CDMS Chief, Concepcion B. Miro, represented ATI-RTC 8 during the convergence meeting with EPAHP representatives and the LGU of Guiuan on February 17, 2021 in the municipality of Guiuan in Eastern Samar.
The EPAHP or the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty Program is a collaboration of different national government agencies, with DSWD being the lead organization in the program’s implementation. The goal of the EPAHP framework is to help mitigate hunger, ensure food and nutrition security, and reduce poverty in urban and rural communities including marginalized communities.
The framework has a 9 Program Convergence Budgeting (PCB) Scheme. On a prior meeting conducted on February 3, 2021 in Tacloban City, Leyte, ATI 8 was assigned to support PCBs 5 and 6 based on the national program cascaded to the regional level. For PCB No.5 or the Capability Development of farmers and People’s Organization, ATI committed to provide a training on Urban Gardening with extension support in the cities of Baybay and Ormoc for DSWD’s Pantawid beneficiaries.
Under PCB No. 6 or the Risk Resiliency Program thru Cash-for-Work and Livelihood Activities, ATI 8 was also assigned to conduct a training to support the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of EPAHP with CDA and DSWD in Guiuan.
During the February 17 meeting, the PCB No. 6 project in Guiuan was presented. It was agreed that the LGU will identify the beneficiaries for the said project based on the criteria provided by EPAHP. Crossmatching of the list of beneficiaries and validation were also scheduled. For the training to be conducted by ATI for 25 persons, once beneficiaries are identified, the Center shall conduct a site validation and Training Needs Assessment in coordination with the Agriculture office of Guiuan sometime in April 2022.
Twenty-four representatives from the DSWD, ATI, COA, DILG, and EPAHP attended the meeting at the Guiuan Municipal Hall.
